So I have the whole drive train on the floor of my shop and I can't decide if it is really worth the trouble of rebuilding and twin sticking the dana 20, if it is still going to have a pitiful 2.03:1 ratio, I know that the Jeep and bronco guys are able to gear these down and tera makes a kit for the 6 spline input, but is there anything I can do with auto tranny and a d20?

Do a search for Jack O'brien, he makes a 3.6 ish to 1 kit that will work with the Scout D20's with Autos. Warning the kits are big bucks ~$1500. Also you could swap the tail-housing from a Heep 727 and go a Heep Dana 300.
