Has anyone gotten any information on the Pro Comp X terrains? Has anyone done a report on these tires? I am curious to see how they perform compared to some other tires, and are they strong enough to handle hard core rockcrawling? Any info or Tech reports would be really handy thanks.

4 Wheel Drive and Sport Utility has a recent write-up.
In a nut shell, they didn't have anything bad to say about them. Good in the sand, good on the rocks, and good on the road. They didn't test them in snow or mud.
They said the have 2 ply polyester cords in the sidewalls for a fexible but strong sidewall.
Hope this helps.
Personally, I would rather have them instead of Mickey Thompson Baja Claws any day. The MTBC have too soft of rubber.

So would you rather go w/ the Goodyear MTR's or the X terrains? Those are my choices right now.

No comparison. Goodyear MT/R. The X Terrain is going to show itself as a Poseur tire I think.

How is a 2 ply sidewall strong? Of course 4wd & sport Utility will have a good review, all magazines have good reviews. Haven't you ever seen the 10 page advertisements 4 wheel parts has in those magazines, they gotta give them good reviews.:flipoff2: Didn't Mickey Thompson have a lawsuit against 4 wheel parts on the design of the X-terrains?

There is also a write up in 4 wheeler on the six best selling Mud Terrain tires. They rated the ProComp X-Terrain as the overall best tire, over BFG and Goodyear.
ProComp says they use thick 2 ply sidewalls with cut resistant duel rubber compounds. The question would be is the "thick 2 ply equal to the GY 3 ply?
The nice think about less plys is that you don't have to let all the air out of them to get them to give over rocks. I can run at 18 lbs where Swampers have to run at 5-7 lbs for the same flexibility. The 5-7 lbs has a much greater chance of loosing a bead or cutting between the rim and a rock.
