Do all D44 front's have 19 spline outers?

the u-joint will let go long before the stub shaft.
This is interesting since this may no longer be the case with the new u-joints out on the market. Incidentally, I've noticed that the 30 spline spur gear from the Warn Dana 60 hub is REMARKABLY similar to the 19 spline spur gear from the 44 hub...

No, scout 44's have like 27? splines. Same as a dana 30 with a 297 joint. really old ones have like 10 splines? I think.

Fords and Chevys have the 19 spline outers. Don't let the small number scare you, they are a coarser spline and are nearly as strong as a standard 30 spline. Also, Warn (and probably others) make a 30 spline outer to use with their CJ hub conversion, but you have to bore the spindles out.

the Warn hub conversion uses the stock 27 spline CJ shafts with a modified 1/2 ton P#20990 premium internal locking hub. I'm unawawre of anyone needing to bore the spindles. I could be wrong...

I guess what I should have said was that you can buy the 30 sp. outers, buy the hub kit but get the 30 sp. hublocks, and if you have stock CJ spindles you will have to bore them out. The Warn CJ spindles are already the correct bore. I don't believe warn makes a 30 spline hublock for a stock CJ wheel hub.
