I havw a guy here in town that will sell me a 2wd small block c6 and a big block 4wd c6 and a np205 for 300 bucks.
From what i gathered from searching when i have the trans rebuilt all i should have to do is take all the inrenals from the bigblock and stick it in the small block case and use the bigblock adapter for the 205.
Is this correct?

The only thing different in the two is the bell housing bolt pattern. The gut's will swap as well as the output adapter. If you want the small block pattern, have that one re-built and tell them to install the t-case adapter from the other one. Easy.

If you want to go to a lower ratio in the trans , use E4OD internals, they will fit and offer a lower first gear.

so just have the 2wd rebuilt and have the adapter and output shaft of the bibblock stuck in to the smal block

Yep. Take them both in and if they need anything else from the 4x4 one they can take it. Including the pan, it will be deeper.
