I've called all of my local parts yards and can't find a Chevy Dana 60 front axle, well I finally decided to call a used parts destribuitor and lo and behold they have one for 400 bucks delivered to my door. Now my question is, is this a good price? What all years did they Chevy have a 60 in the front? King Pin specific....and btw I've been searching so :flipoff2: .

Sounds like they are trying to sell you a D60 rear, that is way cheap for a 60 front

If it is indeed a front axle that is a very good price - for that much you may as well get a ball jointed front end and swap to a fabricated knuckle and some crane inner knuckles down the line if it becomes a problem...

Sorry no help with the years - the late model stuff is all ball jointed - duh! :flipoff2:

From Pirates "Front Dana 60 Bible", sorry blew right past it while looking:
GM - 1977-87 K30 1 ton 4wd, 1984-88 CUCV, 1988-91.5 V30, All GM / Chevy versions were passenger side differential, regular rotation (low pinion) gears, disc brakes, 35 spline inners, 30 spline outers, internal style hubs, and kingpin knuckles.
Running on 2 hrs of sleep yesterday.....
