I run a truck tool box on the front of my trailer for storage, so I'm thinking using a tranfer tank would be a cool idea as well. No more carrying gas cans

I know it's no problem in a truck bed unless it gets over a certain # of gallons, but what if you mount it on a trailer? I fear that might open up a whole new can o' worms. Would I need a CDL with a tanker endorsement? Or some other weird crap like that.

Just figured someone might know.

I see the point, but seems like you are limiting yourself by tying the the gas to the trailer? Seems like a nice rack for 2 five gallony jerry cans would be more versitle and handy for you and others to use...

I agree with DRM, and it doesn't hurt.

Actually, the snowmobile guys have been running transfer tanks in thier trailers for years. Try looking for a couple of snowmobile message boards. they may have someone there that has done tanks on an open trailer. It would be somewhere to start.
