Hi,

A local guy is selling a toyota truck 4x4 that is not running, and I was thinking about probably snagging the axles for my Jeep. WHat type of axles are on a 85 toyota 4x4 truck (that is all the info I have, it may be a six cylinder), and what is the pumpkin positioning?

Thanks,

G

yer crazy. those axles may be fine under a Yota but no for a jeep. They are toyota 8" and morethan likely 4.10 gears. Under a Jeep they'd be lunch. they're thin stamped steel.
And a solid axle yota truck if cheap enough and ahs fuel injecttion (first year was 85) you could scrap it out and make enough money to get better axles.

Damnit boy, just pull those axles out and slam them under that jeep... They'll work better than anything stock, and we all know that Toyota's are the toughest stock trucks out there... 8" Ring gear, Drop out thirds, Big strong rear axle shafts, Birfields up front, but hell, get an eliminator kit... You'll never trash most of the internals, and the housings are plenty fine, so long as you get the 84-85 front housing... Now as for the rest of you, blow me  Toy parts should be on every Heep out there.. They are the only things that keep my pile of shit on wheels rolling down the street and to the trails so i can blow up some Jeep parts...:flipoff2: Oh yeah, you can upgrade the gears to some sweet 5.29's... Try that shit in some Dana 35 or dana 30...
