Well, went wheeling for the first time on Sunday.
Bent my rocker panel.
That's it. According to my room mate, I came very close to folding a rim and tearing off my exhaust, but as the saying goes, "Close only counts in horse shoes, hand grenades, and thermo-nuclear weapons."
Believe me, there will be damage reports to follow.
Pics will follow as soon as the people I was with get them developed. For some reason my room mate thought his digital camera would not be needed.

You need to make some sliders...
I kinda wish that I had made some stuff before I took out the body...:)

fatkid: do you have any sketches or ideas on how you are doing the exo? When are you doing it? When can we see pics?

I was'nt sure what I was going to do. Then on the offroad.com site I found a how to site which shows you exactly how to make 4"x4" angle iron rockers and man are they beefy and cheap to make well under a hundred bucks and I lost no clearance.

I've got some 4x4 angle iron sitting in my garage to do my rockers (granted I've already taken one out on the con). My only problem is that I have to come up with a different rear mount since I've got the Canyon State YJ kit on mine.
I did the 4"x4" angle iron thing for a while. I thought the 1/4" stuff I used was too heavy. I came down HARD on a rock and pushed the angle up into the body and broke my mounts. So I cut out the dented sheetmetal and made a set of sliders out of 1/8" thick 2"x3" tubing. They're lightweight and as strong as the frame they are mounted to. So far they've held up, only a few dents.

I was planning to weld some 1"x2'x 1/8" square tube from well to well behind the body flange and the weld on some 3"x1/4 angle to that . Have any seen this done?

CragRat your quote is so dead on (the seat belt thing) I've said that too many times

It's a bit better than say ... "Next time I'm going to wear my seatbelt"
