hey guys

i was up at the tranny shop today since my jeep the tranny and the tcase were all not together. tcase on the floor and the tranny on the shelf.


i was thinkin this would be a good time to do somethin to the tcase. whats the best thing to do to it other then throw it out the window and go atlas or something that i cant do since my tranny rebuild bill is going to be 1500.

i was thinkin mabey a low kit in the tcase? but how much, ive never looked ive been hung up on the whole atlas thing.

$1500 for tranny rebuild ?? I'd throw that out & go NV4500. If you ant to do something to the t/c it'll cost about $1500 for the Terra gears & a slip yoke eliminator (SYE) kit + labor. Thats getting close to the price of a 3.8:1 Atlas.

Go for it now since it is out. You will love how slow it is with those gears.

If I remember right, you have an SYE already because of the 6" LA RE kit right? well.. Id do the teralow.. its gonna run you about 1000 but I feel its well worth it.

I can put the TeraLow in for you. I did Linyee's. I love the one in my Jeep. If you don't need the strength of an Atlas it is the way to go. Just my $.02

Your putting a bandaid on a broken arm by doing a Tera Low. With the cost of a Tera Low and SYE kit you would be about 3/4 of the way from the total price of an Atlas II. You don't see many smart individuals dumping all their money into a Dana 35C do ya? <IMG SRC="smilies/rolleyes.gif" border="0">

yeah guys thanks for all the info. after all that crap im just gonna wait and go atlas in a couple months. that will pretty much put my driveline where i want it minus a cam and minor engine upgrades.
