Ill start with Im a cheap bastard :flipoff2:

I bought a 89 C1500 (reg cab 1/2T 2wd) truck for next to nothing with a 4.3L and a 5 speed manual.

I built a 5.7 (new everything!) for it and Im going to run the TBI setup on it and the 5 speed.

My question primarily is the suspension, this thing being a 1/2T im worried about it squatting alot in the ass, I also played with the thought of.......lowering it a bit for appearance as it will be my DD as well. If it squats bad can I go el cheapo and put like some air shocks on it or is that just a waste of time? Anyone tow with air shocks or air bags? I wont be towing an awful lot, but I dont want a miserable experience when I do.

My Uncle John used some small coil springs on his 1/2 chevy 2wd when he carried his camper. The just clipped over the bumpstops above the leaf springs. Worked for him for years and years.

Make it a low rider with hydraulics and a canvas top homeboy! I'd laugh my ass off seeing your junk on the trailer coming around the corner with the right front wheel 2' in the air!

I'd say airbags would be the best option really. Air shocks are for kids stuck in the 80's and 90's with Tans Am's :flipoff2:

go with the air bags over the air shocks..This way you still have a decent ride while the air bags are deflated..i think air shocks ride like crap..with and with out air...just my .02

Bag it, not in that slam your truck way, when set-up right the bags should help, but remember to watch your GCVW and always use a brake controller.
