... Just wanted some ideas as to where to mount the OX locker shifters in my XJ. I have an AX15 and NP231. Pictures anyone?

Aw, but then I'd mess up the carpet! :flipoff2:
No seriously, I was looking for a functional place that didn't get in the way of anything. Need real ideas please, does anyone run OX lockers in grocery getters?
Oh and what size tires can I run with a 5" body lift? :D

5" body lift will clear 35's.
Remove the carpets and you can squeaze in 38's.

I run Detroits in my D30 and D35, on my Grocery Getter.
I'm running the 35's cause I didn't want to have to take out the carpet.

Hi Jes: Before I installed the ARB last weekend I was very close to getting the OX. I already owned the compressor and the ARB was $200 less from Rusty.

I understand the you need to have 16" or so free, straight space in front of the shifter so the cable doesn't get snagged. I thing a nice mounting point would be on the floor to the left of the drivers seat. This way you can route both the front and rear easily without too many routing headaches.

Glad to see you spending lots of $$ on the XJ as I have done over that last several months. Andy and I did the front axle last weekend (4.56 and ARB). Can't wait to finish all the small projects (steering, rock lights, alignment) and go on a snow run.

I like this one,

you could put them to the left of the ash tray, but then you'd be reaching a ways to get to them expecially if you were on a steep hill.

another thought, since you are doing two, to the left and right of the e-break lever, if you don't have power mirrors.

Good ideas guys! I just received the front OX today and I must say, what a work of art! This thing is bad-a$$! Got the 4.56s too. So now all I have to do is get the Dana44 rear(sorry no 60). The shifter is smaller than I thought it would be so I shouldn't have much of a problem finding a good location for it.

Sean...
by my calculation, im going to have to do a few contracts killings before i can complete the d60 front axle.
know any one that needs any "honest work" done?
seriously...im gonna die if i dont wheel soon, so it looks like a coupla extra tj shafts for now....eta is end of jan. on the front 60.

John, do like Fecko is doing on his 44. Just build a little at a time. I hear on the extra shafts. I paid $215 for two recently shipped to me, in cluding some TJ flares which I will just sell to someone. You don't have a garage do you? Don't know how I would be able to work unless I could strew my shiat around for weeks on end. What's that, honey, you want the garage back????

i have a garage...but the jeep is about two feet taller than it...
i want to build a big shed with room to work on two rigs, and one lift, but i can hardly afford 60s, so, one step at a time.

my driveway takes the brunt of my prject mess.
my jeep will emerge looking quite different in a few weeks, and yet another metamorphisis or sorts around january.
im just really anxious to be able to go up and help build trails at paragon...another day is coming up dec. 8-9 i think.

When I get mine I am thinking of putting them behind the shifter in front of the heated seats switches. ;) ;)
