I plan to buy a tube bender within the next 2 weeks or so, but I need to decide what die set to start off with.
My first project will be adding a complete tube section to the rear of my Toyota truck to replace the flatbed, as well as a partial exo-cage and front bumper setup.
What diameter should I start off with? 1.5"? 1 /34"? 2"?
I am leaning towards the 1 3/4" die set to start off with, then adding a 2" set later...
I am cheap, so I can only afford to buy one die set right now...
Suggestions? :)

1 3/4" would most likely work best and is cool for cages and such. Do yourself a favor and spend the extra $$$ and get the 180 deg dies the 90's are nice but after using them a while you will wish you had 180's.
Oh ya and don't get too tight a radius I dunno bout most folks I like 6.5" radius for hoops and things of that nature.

I had counted on getting the 180 degree dies anyway, but hearing others suggest it helps :p

I would get the 2" if your going to do some of the exterior, 1.5" is weak unless your going inside the cab and 1 3/4" is within $1 if the price of 2". Also last time I checked the 1 3/4 and the 2" were the same price not to mention that they both come in the same CLR's. Go with 2", some think it's too much but I'll bet you'll be happier with the finished product.:)

I just received my Pro-Tools bender today. I got the 2' die. It has a 7' radius. Can hardly wait to start bending! Going to pick up 160 ft of 2' x .120 ERW tomorrow.

The regular 105 is $275, the HD version has thicker arms all around.
