OK, so I drive a Land Cruiser, but I was curious about something with the Sammi.
I am currently in process of doing a Saginaw Power Steering conversion on my Land Cruiser, and I was wondering why this seems to be a pretty rare conversion on the Sammi (at least, few vendors seem to offer a conversion kit for these cars). Most of the PS options that I have seen are for a Toyota power steering kit, and my experience with these, is that they aren't quite good enough for 35's and front lockers.
Anyhow, just thought I'd ask.

Sorry, I should have clarified.
Teh Toyota setup that I am familar with is that from a Solid front axle minitruck installed on a Land Cruiser, as it's similar to the OEM Land Cruiser PS setu. I was assuming that this was the same setup used on a Sammi....

Nope, even worse, they use a Celica box.. :flipoff2:
I have the Saginaw on my Samurai. You don't see many people do this swap as the box weighs so much, and is so large.
The Samurai is so light, that the Celica box does work pretty well.

Welcome to the world of lightweight wheeling. Most of the time when you hear Toyota and power steering together on a Samurai, the parts came off a Toyota car (Celica). This setup works fine until you start playing in the big rocks and go above 35" tires). At that point the pitman arm starts bending, and the effort rquired to steer goes way up. The Toyota truck boxes are becoming more pouplar and are plenty stout under a lightweight Samurai. Most of the guys who run them on the Toy buggies here in AZ do so with 37-38" tires, many are starting to swap in hydro assist. The frame (on the Toy buggies) general breaks before the pitman arm/box with the truck boxes.
