i went and bought a smittybilt roll bar w/ the extra cage kit that runs to the front of my blazer and across the top of my windshield. when assembling it to check for alignment, i noticed that the cage only goes to the floor, i want it to the frame. would it be safe to create extensions of the same tubing that are welded to the side of the frame and then run up to the bottom plates on the cage, where the extension is welded to the plate.

Sandwicjh the body between plates, attach the underside bars with spring bushings. I'll find a post with pics for you.

thanks for that thread, it really cleared up my consern on the frame flex and the cage flex. it also gave me some ideas on some added features for the cage design.
