thought id post a picture of what i got going on today......
on the left is my 72 dodge knuckles, right side are some others i don't know what they came off of.......
my dana 70 spindles bolt on to the knuckles, and i'm installing studs instead, also the my 35-spline shafts won't fit through the hole in the knuckle..... so i'm going to grind out alittle metal so they will fit.....(something like the one on the right......)
so, the reason i'm not just using the one on the right?
the guy off ebay failed to mention there is a large crack throught one of the king pin bolt holes
......i also got another guy not returning emails about some caliper mounts he owes me........(some peoples kids.........)

So thats what a tracta joint looks like........Pics are great man...couple of questions..........
1. Where can i get a dissasemley diagram of my 70....I'd like to take mine apart to, but i would like to have some info and pics to help....
2.. Where are you getting all your replacement parts....King pins, bearings, tracta joints etc.....
I really wanna flip the steering arms to put the steering in the front........You gonna do that?

i don't know where any breakdown stuff might be (hard to any front 70 info anywhere)
so far i've got most of my replacement parts, ie....brake lines/wheel cylinders, seals, studs and stuff at autozone and advance.....
i'm not replacing the kingpin bearings or races (or brass thing)......i'm just cleaning everything and re-shimming them.. also i'm replacing the tractas joint with regular U-joints and 35-spline shafts....
here's a page i got started here.....http://www.geocities.com/lorimaryrose/dana70front.html
i got a temp steering setup now (i flipped the tierod above the driveshaft). also swapping the knuckles to get the steering in front will throught the "ackerman" way off......

Great info, keep it coming.
Have you looked at the closed knuckle dana 60 m715 arms for hi steer/cross over steering. Will they fit?

Just got one in a single wheel '73 w200 parts truck. The thing is huge!!! You would happen to be the man to get info from on this unit, would you?:D :D I'm thinking of brooming it pretty soon, but would like to go throught it before I do. I was wondering what that tracta joint looked like too. How can I tell if my carrier is a limited slip or not? It looks just like the one in the tech section on here from that rear D70. It looks kinda like a castle. Didn't see any clutches, but could see that it had 4 spider gears in the center. Brakes are kinda locked up on the one side, so spinning it is hard. I'll try to get some pics pretty soon too. Maybe you'll wanna use them on your site or something.
