Hello! I have a 1994 K Blazer and as you all know the brakes on these trucks are sad! I would like to know what changes you have done that made a "real" difference? I wanted to know if the rotor on a 6 lug 3/4T has a larger diameter than the 6 lug 1/2T and will the components bolt on (some machining OK) OR better yet can the 1T front brake components be made to fit and redrill the bolt pattern to 6 lug? Also, what can be done to the rear brakes other than a rear disk swap? Those rear self adj brake shoes (with no external adj slot!!) are crap! When I stop ,hard or slow, I know the front brakes are doing about 98% of the work, I can practically feel it! I have not looked at any of the above parts closely so I do not know how compatible they may be. Thanks for any help or advise. John

Raspestos Carbon matalic gold pads (Pep Boys) and the Castrol GTX brake fluid that meets DOT 4 standard did wonders for my older K5's. The pads do need a little heat so that first stop is not great on cold mornings but grab great once warm. YOU MUST turn the rotors with new pads. A worn surface will not get as good of braking as a turned surface.
I have hauled cars hundereds of miles on trailers that did not have brakes and it was able to stop them with little trouble with that set up.
Ohh yeah do not confuse a problem with the front brakes with a problem with the rears. If the rears are exsessivly worn/ over turned or not properly adjusted it thows the proportioning valve out of wack and lowers the line pressure to the fronts.
Braided lines will also help keep line pressure up.
