Someone with lots of rpm downwhifted a couple to many gears at the same time and it resulted in his pistons looking like THIS:

It's not 4x4 but its still pretty sweet CARNAGE

http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=869691

"Not sure why the necessity to downshift when already at 7,000RPM... maybe he wanted to upshift to 6th gear instead."

Holy cowbell! That is the sickest carnage of motor parts I've ever seen. Makes the 6 I popped so hard I could stick my arm clean through the block look like childsplay. Who knew those rice engines had tin foil pistons???

I don't have any pictures of it, but I saw a big block chevy that broke the crank in in three places and ripped two webs out of the block. Who knows what actually failed first, but it sounded like a bomb going off!!!

It was in a quick eight drag car. The guy was on the line waiting for a green light (had a stutter box).

jesus, would you guys please stop being so moronic and ignorant to call volkswagens "rice".

VW makes some bad ass cars that i would love to own and tune. the VR6 motor is capable of in excess of 400 reliable horsepower from 2.8 liters. not to mention the engineering is second to none...

i know that the pistons in question are from an Acura, but your ignorance shows through regardless.

Dude, mayhaps its just our prejudices showing through. It may be of kraut origin rather than asian but that car is still "rice". I'll stick with American. Here we go...:flipoff2:

I have seen loads of your postings but this one I just had to reply to.
You da man.

PS
Now we know what we both think about the Solihull Scrapheaps did you ever cosider the 4.2 litre V8 efi as the new engine for your rig. Light & torquey.

What did you ever decide on the axles ? I looked at Rockwells like you but in the end went to Wolfgang at Killeraxles.com as I don't think theres any substitute for ground clearance. I'm seriously impressed at the end result just waiting on the new and improved CTIS they're developing

Just one line to Daniel if he's reading this "WHERE ARE MY HUMMER RIMS ?!"

Camo,

They are capable off road trail rigs...just as long as we 'fix' them first. :)

BTW, my kids *love* glitter. :flipoff2:

damn that is some sweet carnage. way worst than the worst i've seen. my buddy had a older camaro that did 10's or better (can't recall at the moment) on a built 350. he was driving one day and goosed it, broke both motor mounts, sent the engine completely sideways and upside down in the bay, shot all the pistons out of the block at once, destroying the fenders in the process, and broke the cam and crank clean in half. anyway, nice rice carnage :D

Being a guy that owns a "rice" Honda with Integra Type-R drivetrain (I have taken this setup to the 9200 RPM rev limit in countless SCCA comps) I can attest to the strength and durability of Hondas "rice" motors. On that same topic, I have heard about many bad things happening to Hondas new I-VTEC motors when overrevved. That is the worst I have EVER seen, and I have seen 9 second Hondas spill there guts on the strip.

Personally I can't think of a more capable off road trail rig IN STOCK FORM AS IT LEFT THE FACTORY than a D90.

compare it to any other equivalent vehicle (I'm not including hummers or mogs here - they are not in the same category) - way better than a Wrangler.

Ya saw this on another forum.......what a moron. Not just the fact that he downshifted from 5th to 2nd while at 7k in 5th, but the fact that he even atempted to downshift to 4th at 7k.

that car was doomed from the start

There is this small company producing a little known vehicle called a Jeep, the specific model is the Wrangler Rubicon and it even costs less and is STILL available in this country (Usa).

I see shit much worse than this at work all the time. I guess I need to get a digi camera and take some pics for you carnage hungry fools.:flipoff2:

You all have NOT seen real carnage until you have seen a heavy truck diesel engine removed in multiple pieces.:D

You'd have to be, 1) lying, or...

Yeah... that's probably it.
