Doubting the new rig will be ready for UROC here on the 4th of July I'm reserecting the blue CJ to get in on some of the mid-season action.
My new spotter is Mike Bullock and we need some practice!
Some of you'll might know Mike ... he's Amy (SHE-J) Bullock's brother-in-law (Steve's brother), is a bigger guy than Moose!, and has been an RCAA judge for the past three or for years.
I've been working on some of the problems the rig had in the last two comps she was in ... steering power and geometery ... and just put a on new set of 35" X 13.5" Krawlers.
Still got to get out to the Glade in the next day or so to break in the new meats (was told they really need this) and get even a little practice in.
Can we expect to see any Pirate members?
If you do come over, say 'hi' will ya?
The blue CJ is hard to miss ... it still is hoodless ...

If anyone needs a spotter, I'd be up for showing up for diesel for me to drive there and back which would be about $60. I'd drive, but the $300 entry fee is too much.

I may be there as well. What location is it going to be at? How much does it cost to spectate at the pro-rock events?

I just read a big write-up in this (Thursday) morning's Farmington Daily Times (http://www.daily-times.com)
The article by Darren Marcy should be available for viewing by this afternoon.
In it, he states the spectator fee will be $10 for a day or $15 for both days. Kids under 12 are free.
All indications lead me to belive the event will be held at the "Brown's Springs" location ... same as the last two events here, including the SuperCrawl.
The local BLM office is still staggared and reeling from the incredible numbers who showed up for this last year's UROC events. So the BLM is tightening down on how much area they will allow be torn up by ever increasing crowds these events have been drawing. They've even fenced in the leveled area for parking and erected a pipe fence around the small water resivour at the base of the main area.
I just hope we've not seen the last of the times when an event can be held in different parts of Choke Cherry Canyon :( like in the not too long ago "old days".
If a promoter is going to be allowed to use a different area, I'm guessing they will have to do a lot more prep and work to satisfy the BLM that the place won't be trashed and de-nuded. This will most likely mean more remote spectaor parking necessitating busing to the comp site, more attention to preserving the vegitation, and much more stringent clean ups.

Thanks Jaffer, I am still undecided. It will probably be a last minute thing but at least I know where to go now.

Well, it looks like a pretty poor turn out in numbers of competitors judging from the quantitiy of rigs that showed up and at the driver's meeting here in Farmington for the Pro-ROCKS event.
Guess people weren't kidding during the "We hate Bob" thread last fall.
One thing about this deal ... we might practically be guarenteed a top ten finish! :flipoff2:
And, with small groups and without the pressure for time, it just may be a bunch of fun.
That doesn't mean my Modfied Stock class will be easy ...
Not with Kathy Cook in the JP rig, Jeff Mellow, the Sissons, Red Bull, Twisted Metal, etc, in the line up.
