I've had mine since a week before the 4runner Jamboree. I like the gears, and Jim did the install cuz I didn't want to have to worry about it. I had a couple problems with leaks, but that was my fault for crappy installing. I also have a shifting problem. Can't shift into 2wd. I sent it back to Jim, and he rebuilt the whole thing, took out the gears to see if they had any damage, and sent it back, no problem. He's on the board and PM's me to make sure everything is OK.

I think it is a shift rod clearance issue why it's not shifting, BTW. I have the case behind a V6 tranny, and it seams like the high/low rod is hitting the back of the tranny. That doesn't allow it to go all the way forward, and the detent pin is still in there, so the locks the 2/4 side into 4. Easy fix. Jim figured that out, too.

If you have any questions, call him. Or you can PM him, but he's usually busy and might take a couple days to answer. # - 1-925-766-6555

Im4yotasso trhe fix is to grindthe end of the rail down so it does not hit the tranny face? Similar to the 1/2" that gets cut off on the dual case installs?

Whooah. Slow down.

Yes I beleive that's what the fix is. Will find out within the next couple weeks. I'm also going to pull the detent pin so I can twinstick it.

Im running them and, since i havent run gears like them before i cant make a comparison to 4.7s, But it is a world of difference wheeling with them as opposed to stock tcase gears, i did all my grinding with an angle grinder, a bit sketch but i dont have access to a machine shop. they are the same price as 4.7s so why not go for em anyway, if you go dual you end up with 237:1

I wonder if there are any evident strength problems with these lower gears? Could be the same issue here as 5.71 vs. 5.29 diff gearing. Just a thought tho; they do seem to be holding up from what people are saying.........I'm up for a set if they deem to be as good as they sound...............
