After all the searching on link suspension, Why does'nt anyone have their links going to the horseshoe collar? I notice that most build their own crossmember. Is there a reason for this. I measured for the links with them going to the collar and they are at about 40", is that to long or will that be OK. If I have to cut out the collar and build a crossmember then I will. Just need to know why. What is the going length on the links. This is an 83 frame and body if that helps.

Horsecollar is to weak. There is a good article in the May and June Peterson's on setting up the four-link:D
when i build mine i'm copying desertoy's set up. his are 42"
here are a couple of useful links (*i think) that deal with 4 link design.

Thanks. I have the mag but have not got around to reading it yet. So that would mean that everyone is cutting the collar out and relpacing it with a crossmemeber to hook the links to?
