I want to use the airconditioning unit from the 350 I put in the jeep as an aircompressor.
Does the long cylinder type compressor work like a york?
will I have to hook up some type of oiler?
You know of a place I can look at for this project let me know.
Thanks in advance

You can use the stock compressor, but you'll probably need an oiler. Check out On Board Air (http://www.onboardair.com/)
If you decide to go with a York on the Chevy motor, check out this write-up York on GM350 (http://www.coloradok5.com/york.shtml)

Anyone have any pics of a later 350 (link is for early 350)?

I have a 89 350 TBI that I'm swapping in. I was thinking of using the stock AC compressor (Harrison) until it dies, or mounting the York where the stock pump is.

Another thought was to put it down where the smog pump would go (lower passenger side), but I was thinking of putting a welding alternator there.

Thanks,

Charly

The onboard air setup is very easy with a chevy motor, the A-6 compressor is made for large GM cars and trucks. It has its own oil sump (Don't need an inline oiler)and very hi air output volume, and capable of over 400psi. It fills a 14.5x38.5 tire from 10 to 30lbs in 15 sec. straight off the compressor(no tank). The A-6 is the large "log type" compressor. There's a pic on my site, click on the motor link.
