I have a fresh and perfect granny low Ford T-18 with the Dana 18/20 transfer case adapter installed. It is in my Flat fender, and works perfectly...only 2000 miles since rebuilt. Doesn't whine, grind, etc. No leaks, cracks, broken bolts, etc. The shifter is perfect, not worn out, or rattly. Reverse is early style, to the right and toward the dash.
The ford t-18 uses the 1-1/16 x 10 spline input shaft and Ford square bolt pattern. The shaft stickout is 6-1/2 inches, It will fit ford bell housings, as well as the bell housing in your 72-86 CJ with the tremec tranny. You would need a new pilot bearing from advanced adapters, but this is a very popular swap.
The transfer case is a little bit blown up...
I'm asking $750.
