Full Doors
It wont release from the styker with either lever . I have the Door panel off . I loosened the frame piece that holds the stryker . I have tryed to remove the lever rods and acuate the catch mechanism with a screw driver . It seems the two fingers that hold the stryker will not release the stryker . I have noticed that when I use the levers it will somewhat release the stryker . Beacuse when I push on the door after using the lever it will click like its catching or latching .
If you have any ideas let me know I'm out in the garage now trying to fix it ..
It is lubed up real good . and the lock mechanism seems to be moving far enough to unlock ..

unbolt the hinges..
pull off the doors..
toss them in a dumpster..
drive away..
It's a Jeep not a Mercedes. Treat it like one.

I've had one do that. I forgot what I did to release it. I did have to buy a new latch though. Sorry I couldn't help more.

The kicking idea gets my vote...preferbly with someone holdin' the mechanism where you had it, when it was sort of releasing.
Otherwise use your brain and take the hinges off..you know the ones with the torx heads on em...might chip the paint though...so you may want to be careful. ;)
Anyway...once you get the doors off...you'll be able to put em on a bench or table and really get into em and mess with the release mechanism.
I had to use the kicking method on mine once...it was accelerating!!
Lots of adrenaline pumping fury coursing through my veins...ahhh to have that feeling again...that woudl be wonderful......:smokin:

Lesssee here... remove the hinges and it's still connected at the striker...
How about removing the striker as well. You'd get the door off and be able to see what you're gonna need to fix.
Sucks to have something like that this time of year in this part of the country. Folks in So Cal have no idea how good they have it.

Ya know havin you guys around . Who needs a dealership or a mechanic . Kick the Poop out of my door ????? Loose the Doors
alltogether in December in the midwest . Who need enemys with help like that *LOL* Why not drive it in Lake Michigan and collect the insurance . ............... Sometimes you have to be seporated from Climbing over 450 pounds of sand and wiggeling your fat butt around behind the drivers door Trying to fix the darn door .
I had removed the plate that the striker bolts too but it never entered my mind to remove the hinge . OK schmuck open your eyes and use your head May as well pull it out while I"m at it .
This Jeep has been a challange from day one . I put a Bds 3.5 lift on it after I installed a plow . Well the plow carrage was angled down so when I turned the plow the outside corner would raise (you guessed it) 3.5 inches . So a cutting and welding we did go to hack up a new plow bracket and lower it 3.5 inches . Then the BDS springs hit the frame . Lets build new shackles .
This was after new exhaust and a clutch . I now have 20.000$
in a 94 YJ . The thanks I get . The spud licker locks me inside at Lows Home Center . And you guys wonder why I do everything myself .
Thanks for all the help . You guys get a bad rap on the net . I have allways found the answers I need hear . I hope I have helped a few of you with all my do it youself stuff I post . Like the rust removing battery charger . Super charger installs and tricking the computer . 20$ airfuel meter .
