I got permission for this contest a while ago. It's called "match that part" You will have to have a red star to participate. Here's how it works

I'll post a picture of a part, one a day, for the next ten days. The first person to post a picture of the same part wins the round. The year or model doesn't matter, but the part you post has to perform the same function in the same area as the part I post. The person with the most rounds at the end of the 10 days wins the prize.

The prize is a BIG Proffitt's Cruisers sticker, yellow with a black shadow and a Proffitt's Cruisers T-shirt. I'll also throw in a cool K&N axle or tranny vent filter.

The part you post has to be for a Cruiser

It can still be on the cruiser but...the picture has to be clearly of the part, the part can't just be visable in the picture.

You can use pictures that already exist on the web.

Your post has to be a picture of the actual part. No drawings (like from service manuals)

The parts will start easy, and get harder

Looks like it's going to be tough... I think I won't be able to wait for the pic to show up... run and grab the camera... discover the batteries are empty... charge them... run to the part in the barn 3kilometers away... snap the pic... come back home... plug the camera in dads computer... wait for the computer to wake up... wait some more... crash the computer... restart computer... connect to the internet... figure out my computer is connected... rush and disconnect my computer... connect dads computer to the internet... start IE and log on the PBB while loading and resizing the pic... and finally post the damn pic... all that in less than 6 minutes !!!

I am going to change one thing though. This 10 day thing is too long. Starting tomorrow, I'll post two a day, at least 4 hrs apart. That way the contest will take half as long.

That was my video camera. It got destroyed in a sandstorm in Moab. I just bought a 5.0 magapixel sony at Wal-Mart for $147

Pretty good deal huh? I think they caught the mistake though. The check out girl went running back to electronics right after I paid.

My research showed that if Proffit goes to bed later than 00:30AM he's not likely to be back on the board before 9:00AM...

Good eye! It is a 75 factory soft top. 38000 original miles. Drives like it was new.

yours is an older clutch with three bolt holes, the later model ones, 1980 + became two bolts, in a angle pattern instead of the three in the triangle pattern.

i was wondering about that

I tried to stay awake in front of my computer, but fell asleep at 2AM :eek: Consequently, I couldn't get up early enough... (say 5AM) when it would have been 9PM (ProffitsStd Time) when he posted the pic.... yeah giving the time for the final would be great... Yup, I know, that would be GMT-7...

I've been watching and analyzing Proffits timetable since the beginning of the contest. He typically wakes up at 7:30, and after a quick breakfast spends half an hour on the PBB before work (8:30 or so) if he's not in a hurry. Takes lunch between 12 and 12:30... when he's done at 1 or 1:30PM he comes over here again if the work is slow in the shop. If he takes a rest in the afternoon he might come again at 4 or 5PM. If he's been working hard, he might come for a short fun break (20-30mins) at 6 or 7... evening occupation varies a lot, I couldn't figure it out yet... ;) Anyway, he might sleep as early as 10, or as late as 2AM, depending of the day he spant, and on the new interesting stuff here...
The time choice for the finals is no surprise here...

I just want ot make sure everybody know what time we're speaking about, so that my victory is clear and clean :D:flipoff2:

I would prefer tomorrow(saturday) at 9 am. Midnight tonight would also work for me. This has been a fun contest, we need more of these.

To tell you the truth, I took this contest with a quasi professionnal method, and it took a lot of time and effort for me, which was made easier by the fact I don't have a job now.

I'm very very happy, this victory brings a great satisfaction for me and my cruiser disease, and I must admit the competition was very tough and disputed. It was great fun, and I'm looking forward for some more cruiser action here. I haven't found anything yet, but I'll try to set up a competition myself in the future, to thank you all guys for being so cool and fun here :D

(that's 200 or so pictures total). I also had a reply window open already, in which I only had to type the name of the part, and VOILA :D
