06-07-2003, 03:21 PM
My first built rig was a trooper and I was a big time snowboarder in HS, the trooper became a local fixture because of mine and my friends exploits. Before long the rig was refered to as "the Snow trooper" and when it bit the dust courtisy of a snow plow the name just kind of stuck to me. Now more people know me by that name than my real one.

Back when I had my 78 Land Cruiser my dad was the original owner. He called it a Green Weeny because of the non powerful 2f engine and there were some hills in Eastern Oregon he couldn't climb with the cruiser. My dad drives a 73 Monte Carlo with a built 454 in it that my mom is the original owner of. So that's where my nick name comes from.

I got my "name for the week" after giving ridiculous medical advice on the board.

TEX
06-09-2003, 06:05 AM
My High School track coach (who was also my calculus teacher) used to call me "TEX" 'cause I always wore cowboy boots. He'd call role every day, so pretty soon the nickname spread around to where everyone was calling me "TEX". I'm hardly ever called that anymore 'cept online, but figured it'd work for a nice simple screen name.

Grim Reaper
06-09-2003, 06:29 AM
I have used this nick for 12-14 years. Use to be a local BBS in Atlanta called HotLanta that I hung on. We cut up pretty bad most of the time, had monthly parties. Even met my wife though that BBS.

We had this one young guy into Speed/death metal and always telling us how beat to crap he would get in the pits at concerts. I was messing with him one days and logged on as Grim and told him I was coming to kick his butt at the next concert he was going to and supplied him with a lot of information about himself. Freaked the guy out. Never planned to do anything. Guy was a drama queen so it was fun tormenting him then logging back on as my old self and messing with him more. Finnaly fessed up after tormenting him for a couple weeks with most of the BBS knowing what was going on.

The nick stuck. I have a bunch of friends that know me in RL that call me Grimmy as a result. Still exchange e-mails with the guy I was tormenting. Even ended up putting him up for a few weeks when he hit the skids.
