How may of you or any one for that matter go buy Sunray Engineering, I would like to get some more info on the high pinion 9 inch gears/third members they may be producing because I'd like to hi-pin my 9 inch. Right now the only option is to go with Currie's third member with 8.8 inch gears, and at $1300.00 US. thats alot of coin.

I went to the shop once to check on a front axle - 9"/D60/D70 hybrid. Everything looked nice and all, but not for the $4850 I was quoted. I thought that was a little steep for the stuff they were using - at least Dynatrac makes/uses all new parts.

I may be wrong, but I do not believe there is a TRUE 9" high-pinion. I believe they are all 8.8's. Please inform me if I'm wrong - I'd like to know.

if $1300 seems steep to you Sunray probably isn't your bag. I've heard they are great people, but from the price quotes I've gotten from them for narrowing an axle they are probably the most expensive people in town.

I saw a post on this BBS months ago about Sunray's plans to have custom 9 inch revers rotation gears cut and put them in a standard Ford third member rotated 180. So I phoned them and talked to someone I think his name was Garald? and he said that it was true but that they had to order a minimum of 100 sets of gears to make it cost efective. He asked what ratio I was looking for(4:11) .

Gerald - dunno last name - and Tom Ellis are the main ones to talk to there. The phone # is 817-594-9201. The shop is about 15 miles from my house.
