I've installed a '93 burb eng ing my '81 cj. I purchased a wiring harness from howell. I just dont know how to wire the howell harness to my fuse block on the fire-wall. does anyone have a schematic because ther are quite a few wires coming out of my jeep and only a few wires coming from the howell harness.

I used a Painless kit a few years back with the same application, it was pretty simple. As I remember there are only a few wires that actually tie back into the Jeep wireing, like a constant hot, ingition hot and a hot while cranking. That and a couple of ground wires and a brake switch. Everything else goes from the computer to the engine. Good luck:D

call howell and ask them. Like the guy before said you only use a handful of wires. I just cut most of them off at about 18" and covered the ends. They are convienent for accessories you might want to put in the front of the jeep.

I just finished my fuel injection today! The only realy wires that you have to have is one that will stay hot all the time, then you need one that is hot only with the ingnition and then that is all that get wired to fuse block....everything else should plug in or be cut off.

you need one wire to go to the alternator too. I used a brown one that was for the 4x4 light. It has to be a resisted wire to excite the alternator.

look at the diy-efi.org site. The gm ecm page has a list of computers for the tbi if using the 7747 it shows the pin outs of the plugs. You will need a wire for the crank signal off the solenoid, power for the ecm-fuel pump, the hot wires for the computer. If you don't find it pm me and I'll get my papers out of my files and get you wire colors and number of the pins on the connectors.
