I run a '69 Z-28 aluminum bellhousing that I flycut to fit the larger input bearing retainer of the truck trannies. It allows me some extra room for the front driveshaft and I use a gear reduction starter for more room still. I'm running a 10.5" Centerforce clutch without any problems. Any early GM car bellhousing would suffice...

only problem is, that the aluminum bell housings have a tendency to crack under the conditions they are subjected to in a 4x4.

4x4 used aluminum ones in the 80s and up with the 4 speed even, so,..

cast iron truck housing is not worth 100 or even 70 bucks, thats crazy, they are not rare, you can find iron ones in the 67-72 trucks with 3 and 4 speed both, 2wd and 4x4 both, they are all same 69-up, in 68 older it depended on which tranny

all depends on where you live. in the more densely populated areas most junkyards do not keep and pre 1985 or so vehicles cause the late model stuff brings in the $ and rent is not cheap, so finding a cast iron bell housing is not that easy. out in the country, it's a different story. rent is cheap and there are lots of older rigs around, and the parts for them are way more common and therefor cheaper.
sometimes living in the big city is not all it's cracked up to be. and UPS does not ship boat-anchors for free either!:flipoff2:
