F-250/F-350 4 wheel drive only (150's have different system). 1994-1997 is a sure bet, maybe earlier and later. Buy them used as they are at least $30 new and as high as $55 at some dealers (Tucson area wanted this much). 4 bolts and the shock and they come off.

Go with the 78ish F250 4x4 front shock mounts. They are usually around $16 a piece. they are identical to the newer units but are cheaper because they are for an "old" truck
Go figure......

Ford Part number:

E5TZ-18183-A

Several of the guys in my club use these shock towers, they work well.

Are the Ford shock towers a bolt on or do they require welding?
Also do they require any sheet metal trimming and how much longer of a shock do they require? Anyone have pics or know of a write up?
Thanks

They come with bolt holes, so I guess that would be your choice as to wether you want to weld them or drill holes and bolt them. The people I know using them welded them.
You will be doing a little bit of trimming on the inner fender well for additional clearance.

Does anyone have any pictures of this? I'm still working with a bare frame right now, so this might be worth looking into. How much longer or a shock can you use? I'm in the process of doing a spring over, so I might need as long of a shock as I can get.

thanks in advance.

69cruzer: What size were you running before the ford towers? Or how much longer are they?

I was running rancho lift springs and whatever generic (heckelthorn?) shocks manafre suggested to me at the time I bought them. I did the ford tower conversion along with the spring over and it seems to work well. One downfall I did notice was that they come out a hair more than I like towards the wheel. which made me move the bottom part of the shock inwards on the axle as far as I could and they still rub my tire on full compression. but with a bump stop I think It will work better.

I ran 9012's when I had Ford SHock towers and Toyota axles. When I went to the D60 in the front, I origionally had the bottom shock mounts on the tube.

The High Steer arms were contacting the shock tubes at full flex so I mounted the bottoms of the shocks to the tops of my Ubolt plates that hold my Leaf springs on.

Because of this, i had to use a shorter shock so I went to 9112's and they are PERFECT
