: Cad 500/472 mounts in a ScoutII
Cliffy [JD] 06-09-2003, 08:46 PM Thought there were pics posted, but I can't find 'em.
I want to get the MTS universal mounts, but I'm not sure if they will sit my engine too low or if you can adjust thier height?
If you can get "GOOD" pics of the mounts in your scout Post 'em up please
ChiScouter 06-09-2003, 10:16 PM emailed you 2 pics, let me know if they helped
Sully 06-10-2003, 01:34 PM Any chance you could post 'em up, so we can check 'em out too?

Those pics are nice, they show a lot of the header, but not much of the mount. I think a little shows in the bottom of the pic.
Is the motor mounted in that pic? or is it loose??
If you have pics showing more of the mount that would be great. If not, thanks for the ones you gave me anyway.
Also for those who don't know, the MTS Universal mount is different from the Street Rod mount. (<----- FACT straight from AL)
FOR ANYONE INTERESTED:If ChiScouter doesn't post pics here, I will post 'em when I get mine
ChiScouter 06-10-2003, 07:50 PM I am not trying to be a prick about posting the pics, I am not a techie, and pirate says the pics from my digi camera are too big, and I don't know how to compress. Cliffy I have a set of those MTS universal mounts that I didn't use. I don't know what the price from mts is, but if you want them I will sell them for 1/2 of Al's price
The motor was loose in the pic, the other part of the mount has been posted here a while ago. It is a piece of rectangular tubing I sliced up.
SSGTWC 06-11-2003, 05:59 AM Send me the pics, and I will try to downsize them.

Hey Chi, I talked to Al and he said the universal mount style is made to mount to a crossmember, and the street rod style is made for frame mounting. Did you use the Universal style? Why do you have a spare set, did you order the wrong style? I'm not trying to be a picky ASS, but I am interested and want to make sure I'm getting what I need.
One last thing: If you did use the universal style, and not the street rod style, how did you mount 'em. Is that what the rectangular part coming off of the frame is?
ChiScouter 06-11-2003, 08:30 PM I bought a whole bunch of stuff from Al to get a big discount. By the time I went through everything and looked at the universal kit I really didn't like it. It is meant to be used with a crossmember, which I didn't want to fab. I could have fussed around with it to make it work, but In my view using it attached to the frame without a crossmember might possibly tend to spread the rails. So I just ordered the streetrod mounts.
I need to go through my photos to find some better pics than I sent you, I am pretty sure I have them somewhere.
Cliffy [JD] 06-12-2003, 06:16 PM Well I was hoping to save some money by picking up your mounts, but if I'd have to make a crossmember right away, I wouldn't be any better off.
Even though I plan to add a crossmember in the future, it's not in the budget right now.
Don't suppose you have a "spare" set of Caddy headers you want to let go of? ;)
Ben W 06-12-2003, 11:08 PM please ignore the dirt, oil, and rust. :D

It sits pretty low
Cliffy [JD] 06-14-2003, 12:09 PM What are the two filters for? Obviously one is the engine oil filter. but what about the other?
