: the yj so far
<IMG width=478 height=298 SRC="http://www.pirate4x4.com/ubb/uploads/avcorners.JPG">
this is the yj so far with the avalanche corners and rockers, and bds 4 inch front waggy springs in the rear and yj4 inch front both soa. d60 front 14 bolt rear, and 15x10 with 37 boggers. the wheelbase is now 97 inches
CaptainFleXJ151 09-27-2001, 01:37 PM There you go, that is awesome. I am starting a smilar project. What engine/trans/t-c are you running? Does that 14 bolts come close to the gas tank at all with the waggy springs?
91tbi 350/th350/d300 with 32 spline output. the 14 bolt is under the tank a little but with all the lift i dont think it will even come close.
CaptainFleXJ151 09-27-2001, 05:08 PM Cool deal. I figure a D60 will clear without a problem. I want to run 38 sx's to start out and working my way to 39.5 boggers. initially i think i can run front waggy's all around with an S/R and a 1" body lift to clear the 38's. i'm not planning on fenders either. based on what you've done to yours, do you think I will have any clearance issues? i'll be sure to use a bumpstop. also, is you d300 clocked at all? i also plan to cut the tunnel and clock the d300 flat. keep me updated on the project.

Adam,,,,,, And How Much Are They???????
march and there like $500
1BDYJ 09-27-2001, 06:37 PM yjtj...what are you doing about front d-shaft to transmission pan clearance???
On mine the front shaft just about hits the pan, I couldn't use a cv shaft up front cause it wouldn't bolt on <IMG SRC="smilies/confused.gif" border="0">
i will need to use a stock width d shaft like 1 1/4 and i wont fit a cv either. it will come close but i have enuff play prolly due to the t case not being totaly flat and the amount of lift i have.
Jeepmangled87 09-27-2001, 08:04 PM That thing ROCKS!! I love the built YJ's! <IMG SRC="smilies/usa.gif" border="0">

xBabyJesus 09-27-2001, 09:31 PM Any problem clearing the brakes w/ 15" wheels?

SCRAPER 09-27-2001, 10:35 PM that thing is fawkin sweet. maybe a dumb question but how far so you have to move the hangers for the waggy springs? is that where you got your extra wheelbase? thanks <IMG SRC="smilies/wink.gif" border="0">

kutyafal 09-28-2001, 06:43 AM What's the advantage of using Waggie front springs for the SOA ?
fullwidth chevy axles hangers are all still stock the waggy center pin is 3 inches or so further back than the yj sprigs, the calipers had to be ground cause the wheels have 3.5 backspacing
jjchgo 09-28-2001, 07:10 AM kiss ass jeep. very nice work.

BabyWrangle 09-28-2001, 12:31 PM I see the gas tank filler is just kinda hanging there. Did you cut it shorter at all? Just wondering because I want to do avalanche corners like that but I'm not sure what to do with the filler.
<IMG width=516 height=316 SRC="http://www.pirate4x4.com/ubb/uploads/eront fenders.JPG">

CaptainFleXJ151 09-28-2001, 03:25 PM Post pictures when those fenders get put on.

CaptainFleXJ151 09-28-2001, 10:48 PM You dont think there will be a problem with tires throwing stuff at the motor and stuff?
im going to make removable inner fenders out of inner tubes or somthing of that sort
Andy 911 09-29-2001, 07:36 AM I'm considering the same springs, how do they flex sprung over? I heard they are pigs under so I'm sceptical.
Charly 09-29-2001, 09:22 AM Do those March pulley's and brackets change the alternator and PS placement?
That definitely looks like a diffeent configuration than my 89 TBI.
Charly
i havnt run the waggy spring yet as the jeeps not moving yet, but i ran the 4 ich yj springs front and rear soa and they worked great.
yes they do change the configuration of the power steering pump and the alternator
YJTJ sweet YJ course you already knew I thought that about it <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0">
SHERPA 10-01-2001, 05:26 PM what brand of headers are those?? What is
the p/n---application to order them for??
Nice rig...........
Sherpa

Honkylips 10-01-2001, 09:42 PM Nice rig.....did moving the front axle forward screw with your steering setup at all?

Thanks for your reply. Since I don't know
the inner-width of a YJ frame in the motor
compartment area, could you measure yours
for me?? And, while you're out there enjoying
the awesome ride your creating, could you
also measure the widest-point those headers
are within the frame rails...?? purty please?
I haven't done my 350 yet in the cj, and am
still looking for options on exhaust..
But I'm running a hydraulic clutch (on the
passenger side of the bellhousing) and the
look of the draw-back to those headers is
that they point towards the bellhousing..
Do ya think they would clear the clutch-slave
cylinder back there?? mucho-thanks buddy.

onetoncv 10-05-2001, 10:26 PM that is one sweet jeep man-
got the tailgate done<IMG width=466 height=404 SRC="http://www.pirate4x4.com/ubb/uploads/tailgate.JPG">
Roguedude 10-06-2001, 04:22 PM Howed you do your taillights? I've seen thoes on alot of yj's but cant figure out how everybody's making them.
the avalanche corners come with the holes cut for the round lights. i bought the lights at the local tracter supply store
Honkylips 10-06-2001, 04:51 PM Howed you do your taillights? I've seen thoes on alot of yj's but cant figure out how everybody's making them.
It's easy enough to do. Just unbolt your stock lights, and whip out the sawzall/grinder and cut a 4" (or is it 4.5"?) round hole. Waala.
mudbug97tj 10-07-2001, 07:47 AM Man that is one bada$$ jeep
TPIJeep 12-12-2001, 07:50 AM What brand of headers are those? And what size outlet do they have?
Thanks
ya id say. was surprised to see it. they are hedman headers coated with an aluminum color. the outlet is 2 inches i believe. they were 99 bucks from summit
JeeperJake 12-12-2001, 10:41 AM yjtj- feel like posting any up to date pics? i would like to see what it looks like now
-jake
i put it in storage for the winter, funds were running low and the temp was dropping. in the spring i am gonna tear the dash apart and make a custom dash and hook some guages up. i have to have the exhaust done to. few other little things also, but its pretty much done. wish i had a shop and more money:) , oh well soon enuff
ChadLloyd 12-12-2001, 11:56 AM If you get a chance .......
could you measure the actual height of your boggers and post it, together with the psi in the tires? I'm considering these tires but read that they were kinda short for 37s .....
thanks .
Lowrangerider 12-12-2001, 09:17 PM Do you think you are going to have and drive line angle problems in the rear?
I have a nv4500, spring over with stock spring, a 8.8 rear end. I have problems with mine as it is... Or do you gain enough length with using the waggy springs?
i have the d shafts in. i actually lowered the t case a little to get the right angle and the rear d shaft is 28 inches. came out pretty good dont figure ill have any probs, it was much worse of an angle with the 231 and 9 inch trust me and the shaft was only 18 inches.
Lowrangerider 12-13-2001, 10:14 AM So a 14 bolt rear has a better pinion angle then a 9"?
yes and with the new motor tranny and t case the d shaft is 10 inches longer now, also due to waggy rear springs
The Rockslut 12-14-2001, 01:50 PM Originally posted by Lowrangerider

yes the pinion on a 9" is lower than a 14 bolt.
YJTJ: what was the width of your axles again?
they are fullwidth chevy axles 68 or 69 whatever they are
