: Gonna sell my vinyl...Ebay or record shop??
Roxywheels 06-10-2003, 09:03 AM I know we've discussed this before about my Beatles albums(that I still have) but I'm tired of looking at this box sitting around so I'm gonna get off my a$$ and sell them. I have some 50's, 60's, 70's and a lot of 80's albums....not to mention a huge stack of 45 from the jukebox at my Dad's old bar. If I put these things on Ebay do I do at as one lot or sell the separately? Do record chops usually pay a somewhat set price per album or does it depend on the artist?? Any help would be great! And if anyone wants to buy any of it let me know! I did take the time to make a list of what I have as far as albums. :roxy:
DieLucas! 06-10-2003, 09:09 AM Roxy, e-mail or PM me a list of what you've got...I may be interested in some (don't care for the Beatles, anyway).
As for 80's stuff, do you have any Talking Heads or underground stuff?
Deep South Cruisers 06-10-2003, 09:09 AM I'm thinking YARD SALE :D don't you have some pineapple rugs to sell too:p
Co Pilot 06-10-2003, 09:11 AM listed individually on ebay. ;)
I have no idea how much record stores pay.. but I figure they'd buy cheaper since they plan to re-sell them, selling to someone on ebay on the other hand is more likely going straight to the collector and since cutting out the middle man, they'd probably gor for more.
I'm betting the record shops will hose ya, but might be the only place to unload some of the low-demand stuff. I'd sell the "good stuff" piece by piece. Mediocre stuff you can package with the stinkers. And I think some folks here might be interested in that list ;)

Just make a list here! Give your homeb0yz a crack at them first, Mel! :D
ChevyGal 06-10-2003, 09:14 AM Ebay them. You will get ripped off by a record shop....

DieLucas! 06-10-2003, 09:20 AM Hey Rip...nice Pixies sig, there!
HighToy 06-10-2003, 09:21 AM A record store will stick you in the neck with a fork and laugh at you as you walk out.
Stick them on ebay individually. First do some research to try and find out which one's are actually worth money.
If you have a list can you shoot it to me. I may be interested in some too.:D
EDIT* I just noticed you had 50's records. Can you shoot me a list of those ASAP?

Chemical442 06-10-2003, 09:26 AM Mel, if you "accidentally" have your naked reflection show up in the pictures of the records, I guarantee you will:
A) Become and intarnet superstar overnight.
B) Be exposed to hundreds of thousands more potential buyers via the miracle of guys emailing the link to their guy friends and them forwarding said link over and over and over...
C) Get more money for your records (see A + B)
;)

you are missing the potential here!!! its all about the bait and switch. Fawk the records, let them go for .25 and sell autographed photos of the Queen of Bolivia for $5.00

Roxywheels 06-10-2003, 09:42 AM Ok...this is the list of what I'm gonna get rid of. Keep in mind my gay 80's stuff comes from being a DJ  I don't even remember half of this stuff and have know I didn't buy some of it. The old stuff belonged to my sister and brother. :roxy:

Yes...it says that right on the album, but the thing that sucks on that one is I don't have the cover for it...its just the album in a paper sleeve :( :roxy:

The info thats on the record...all of which makes no sense to me is:
Somerset...which I'm assuming is the record house?
MI-15100B
and then at the bottom P-15100B

Okay, well then it's a Somerset pressing.
Might be worth more than any other album in there. The Beatles excluded of course. ;) The date on the Fats album, and condition, are important. Having no cover reduces value immensly however. :(

The condition on it is ok...but it does suck that the cover is missing. :( :roxy:

I think the only Elvis I have is on 45 and its Heartbreak Hotel. There may be a few other Elvis 45's. I'd have to sort thru them to see. :roxy:

I'll be your first buyer on the Elvis's ones
But you may get more money off Ebay
I would be interested in some vinyl if you have some old school metal like Judas Priest, Maiden, or Black Sabbath.
