Yeah, only time. I just got back, the local pull a part has a 72ish 1200 crew cab long bed, orange and white, with no rust, but was hit in the front right. Man would I have loved that truck.
As for this thread is worthless without pics, I may be going back in a couple of hours. Also, if anyone needs anything off of it (it was pretty darn clean), I will grab it. just need to let me know, and paypal me before I leave.

buy the whole thing, the front clip is easy to replace.

What Ben said. Buy it, swap the front clip.

Less than a day to yank a front clip your first time.

Imagine my surprise as I was leaving for work and saw that...

Just two weeks or so before RMIHR.. and I finally thought I had something worth "showing" for a change.

That's the first time I've actually lined those three pics up together..

In any case.. 6/25 my truck was smashed in front of the house.. third week of July I was in Colorado, @ 14,000lbs.

Biggest delay was getting a new radiator - the new core arrived with a big hole in it.

I drove the truck for the first time since it was hit on Tuesday to work.. Wednesday we were loaded up and trucking down the highway.

If things go well, I'll be putting the new 392 in around 4th of July and hope to have all of the bugs worked out by the 16th to leave for Rendezvous.

I started on this motor over a year ago.. ;)

Not only is it in the middle of the yard, people have started pulling part off of it, and I am broke. Horrible thing isnt it. Oh, and I woudl say the front end is hit in half as far as toms. :(

Being a 69-73, the front clip won't stuff as far due to the engine being 7-8" forward of where mine is (Hmmm.. or maybe it's only 4"?)

Less crumple zone.

The stacked up sheetmetal quit before, or right as, it hit the motor. The radiator can come back a good ways before it hits the engine.

Not so on a 69-73.

you know what I am wondering.. it may be a 73-75... looking at toms truck makes me think that.. but then, I dont know.

Garrett

EDIT: yeah, it is a 69-72. Doesent look like I am heading back out to that yard either.

The easy ID of a 74-75 is the grille/hood/lower valance.

Grille is like mine was originally. Hood and lower valance have a "bulge" in the enter. Lower valance has a single slot, while the 69-73 lower valance has two slots - or one slot, with a rib in the center.

Otherwise, a 69-73 looks like a 74-75, and the front clips swap.

If you had some money I would have you take my dads truck off our hands. Its either a 75 or 76 1 1/2 ton IHC I believe it it is a 200 it is cab and chassie only. 300 original miles never registered for the road. purchased new from garden state IHC to be converted to a motor home but never got arround to it. It's just sitting in my back yard rusting away.
