I need to figure out what the wall thickness is on my rear dana 60 that came out of a ('70s??) dodge van.
It is an offset rearend (by about 6 inches).
It has an OD of 3.125"

Does someone know what the wall thickness would be in one of these dana 60s so I could figure out the ID from that?

I could cut the ends of the tubes off to find out but I'd hate to cut it open then find that it isn't the one that I need.:(

Thanks

This housing is actually an offset pupkin d60 30 spline out of a 70s ford van. It is not an HD60 and has a pass side short axle.

I just cut the spindles off a 60 today with an od of 3.125 and the wall thickness was the standard .375 as are most 60 rears.

Found an old 4x4 magazine article on differentials last night. It showed 6 different tubes used in about 10 different front and rear ends and it listed a rear 60 as having a 3.125" OD and a .313 (5/16) wall thickness.

I would guess it is .375" wall but I'll know for sure when I cut it open.

Thanks for the input.

I measured it last night and it would be approximately 65" WTW.(at least the one that I have)

Cutting the long side so it matches the short side would be just about right in a toy (it is about 6" difference between sides).
