Hi all ,

I did a search . came up with nothing . I'm looking for any info on this : 1988 Landcruiser BJ 74 , comes with turbo injected diesel , 5 speed , etc. etc . It was a special import direct from Japan , but has Right-hand drive :( .

I was wondering if anyone here has ever done a RHD to LHD conversion ? Maybe some Aussie 's here that could help ??

I think it's somwhat a cutnpaste job, but definately involves sheetmetal work and the need to source specific LHD stuff. I'd do it with enough time and room for the job.

You're going to need a LHD dash skeleton and a few of the dash components; the toughest part will be changing over the steering and the pedals, sourcing all that stuff in Canada won't be extremely hard but it could get costly on you real quick. I suggest getting used to sitting on the other side of the truck, and no passing for you on two-lane country roads! :flipoff2:

Last time I was out @ SOR they had a few LHD HJ 70 they were parting out. Might be worth shooting them a mail and see how much for parts

on a 40 the motor is offset to the drivers side.
Would a RHD 40 have the same motor placement?

To add, you'd also have to swap the headlights, from left to right and vice-versa (for the hi and lo beams). Then there're the wipers that go the wrong way, which of course is attached to the hood...
