hey guys, I have a line on the following:

all from an 83 dodge 3/4 ton:

60 front

70 rear

divorced 205

I know the D60 is hubless, does it have a vacuum disonnect like the dodge 44's had?

Is there anything else that sucks about these particular parts? I know a 205 and 60 are pretty strong, but I am not sure on the details of the dodges from this year.

Are you sure it is a 60. I didn't think they had the 5.9 diesel then.

I didn't think the 3/4 dodges had Dana 60s?

I belive they went to the vacuum disco in '94?

The dodge Dana 60 is a little bit narrower than a chevy dana 60

Not a whole lot of help there...

I have not seen any of these parts, I just know I found them for the "right price." I know another guy who is running a D60 out of a 1 ton dodge, this one may only be an HD44...

I am not sure, hence the questions.

I have seen 60's on 80 model dodge 3/4 tons, should be full time 4 wheel drive, just need to change the hubs,

What I would questions is the 70 rear, a lot of those trucks had 60/60 combinations.

Take a look before you buy.

I have a D60 from the front of a 92 Dodge 1-ton.

67.5" from wms to wms. Passenger side drop.

94 is when they cam out with the vacuum connect crappola and I believe the diff switches to the drivers side. Plus 31 spline shafts.

plenty of dodge 3/4 tons came with dana 60's in front.More common to have a 44 if from the 70's. It is not vacuum disconnect as that was instituted in 94:mad: AS for the set-up the 60 front and 205 are plenty strong. If it has a dana 70 rear it will handle pretty much whatever you can throw at it as long as it has the 35 spline shafts(pull a shaft and check). As another post mentioned most had 60's front and rear..But, some have a 70 in the rear. Hope this helps.

my friend had a 89 3/4 ton dodge and it had the vacuum disconnect front end. i thouhgt it had a 60/70 combo but could it have had a 44/60 combo??? it also had full-time hubs and a part-time t-case.

What spline shafts will the 60 have?

I assume a hub change will also require a stub shaft replacement?

Even if it is "only" a D60 rear, what are the odds that I will break it with a 180HP / 200 ft-lb V6?

If it is a D60 rear, what spline shafts can I expect?

Also, are the "weak" D70 axles 32 spline or what?

Sorry for all the dumbass questions, and thanks a lot for the help!

60 rear is plenty stout, the only reason for going bigger is for heavy loads and pulling.

I don't know the exact number but older 70's has something like 27 and 17 spline axles, my numbers are probably wrong but it is in that range, yours should be 30+ splines.

I hate those things...I got one for $100 bucks and it cost me near $600 in parts to convert it to manual lockouts.

If it is an 83 model it will not be vacuum dissconnect.. As for the 60 rear. If it is the OEM rear axle in the vehcile the chances are most probable that it is 30 spline..Don't hold your breath that is 35 spline. They are extremly rare..Older 60 rears had a 16 coarse spline which should be avoided.. The dana 70 rears with 32 spline are least desirable..The old version of the 70 rear had a 23 splien axleshaft;but, it was an inch and half in diameter. If it is a 60 rear with 30 splines you should be fine with your set-up(motor)..:D
