Has anyone out there using an np203 as a doubler rotated it
90 degrees with the shift lincage on top to reduce the distance it hangs down ?

I haven't seen them rotated 90* but I have seen them rotated upside down with the 205 turned up flat behind it so that it's completely flat with the tranny pan. some tunnel work is required but it was a pretty trick setup.

Will a dodge 203 mate up to the TF727 in my Scout II? If so, what would be a good year to grab one out of?

Nope. Have to change the t-case adapter and output shaft to the Dodge components.

You need to get a 727 from a dodge that had an np203 and use the tail stock and output shaft.
