I went to a junk yard and got an arm off a Nova or old camaro. They are aboput 7" long and THICK. you can also use a wagoneer arm.

I'm not sure, but note for reference that waggy arms are about 1 inch longer than yj arms, and therefore give you more turning radius.

You should match your pitman arm length to your steering arm length. The longer the pitman arm, the quicker the steering. I am using a YJ arm (about 5.5") with Parts Mike steering arms (about 6") and I get full steering. If I went to a longer pitman arm, I would hit my tie rod with the drag link due to my front axle palcement and steering box placement. You have to think about all of these things to make your steering system work properly.

eric has a good point. i had my tie rod and drag link both over my springs and if i had used anything more than the 4 inch drop pitman arm for a yj i would have the pitman and the tie rod making unfriendly contact. so be care ful dont go to long try what you have know see if it works if not step up tp the yj drop then the waggy if longer is needed.
