: cutting springs?

Putting a set of 2" BDS YJ springs in the front of my Runner, however they are military wrap front and rear, where my old ones were wrapped in the front. The problem is I'm pretty certain that the military wrap will hit the frame on the shackle end, I have stock length shackles running through the frame. I tried longer shackles once and it made my front end sit tall as well gave me terrible death wobble, so the shackle length has to stay as is.
My thinking is taking a cut off wheel and cutting the military wrap leaf just back of the end of the spring, so it won't hit.

Any adverse affects from this??

Thanks

Jeremy

seriously lift shackles arent the devil! you need a slightly (key word in this situation) longer shackle to maximize the potential of suspesnsion travel with arched springs anyway.

well, I know that. The problem is I tried them. I installed a set of All Pro's heavy duty shackles, like 1 1/2" of 2" longer than stock? I got really bad death wobble from them. As soon as I put back on stock length shackles, it went away. Though more travel would be nice, my truck flexes pretty well overall, and it goes anywhere so more travel isn't what I need.

run a small shim to corect the castor angle and the death woble will disapear with the longer shackle.

forgive my ignorance, tilting the axle which way?
I'm thinking fat side towards the front, pointing the pinion back up?
