I just had a question for you guys about having a axle cut down. I have a 1979 Ford High Pinion front Dana 60 and I have the rear to match it and I was wondering if there is any way that I could have the front cut down so I could use short side shafts in both sides? I want them to be about 60"es across from mounting surface to mounting surface. Is there any way that I could have this donw? The thing is I dont want to buy special made axle them if I break one I got to buy a brand new one. I am looking for a cheap way to get these cut down so I dont haft to get a special length axle. Give me your guy's ideas :)

Thanks for the site helped a lot. Not going to cut them down. Just going to leave them full width. I have one more question though the front High Pinion 60 has though HUGE dual caliper brakes on them. How can I get rid of them to fit a 15" wheel up front?

Ditch the ford outers and go to a Chevy brake setup, grind the edge off the caliper and use 15" wheels with 2.5" of backspacing... don't ask me where to find the chevy parts but that set up works for me...

Hey thanks TPIJeep, but I have one more question:) Can I use my dual piston brakes and fit my 15" rims? With a little grinding?
