For those who can't get my link to work. Here's a shot off Corbin's Web site. Taken at some little of trail in California. I think they call it Rubicon... 1st Annual Marlin Crawler Roundup.. Ever hear of it?:D (Boy, the things I gotta do!:)

Some Isuzu stock, Toyota stock, Jeep stock, Ford stock, GM stock. A nightmare at the parts counter for sure.

Hope to get it out soon and play with it again after I get the engine conversion on my Motorhome done.

i picked this truck up in the fall of last year as a builder project

here it is right before going under the knife for 6 months:

Actually, not sure if I count a lost bead as being in trouble, it took about 5 minutes to reseat the tire and scale the obstacle.:p

My stock as cock 91 Trooper. Bought it for $2500, it is my second Trooper. Sold my first Trooper to my mother so she could drive on the beach and she blew the engine. So far I have installed a starter and shocks with the help from the chilton auto book, 'cause this city boy can barely change the oil. Future plans are only some BFG Land Terrains and the nicer stock (12 hole) rims from a junkyard.

Is your zoo zoo a manual trans? seems like you mentioned it was sometime back, if so do you like it? I am trying to find a dd with a manual for a friend of the fam.

bennett

Yep, Its a manual, just turned over 150K a month or two ago. Just put in one of those Tornado thingies! Seems a little more power on the low end, and looking like maybe up to 2mpg better fuel "economy" (from 15-17 to 17-19)! Mark Whatley calls it snake oil, but I'm not gonna argue with results!! We'll see. ;)

Think I lifted it too much??;)

Picked up the dent a little farther along the trail from the right picture. I'm running 35s, 3.07 t-case and 5.38s now, with ARBs front and rear.

Okay. I'll post a pic. Nothing too extreme here, just 3 inches of suspension and 1 inch of body lift to fit the 33s under it, and the Teralow gears to help the tranny out a bit...

AlaskaToy
08-05-2003, 12:31 PM
70-something Landcruiser front axle with mini knuckles on YJ leaves w/ a chevy leaf. Homemade x-over steering. SOA rear w/ add a leaf. 3" body lift. 4.10 gears, ARB rear. 350/350/208. 35" BFGs. Viair 450c onboard air w/ 3gal tank. Inverter. Homade fiberglass flares. quick disconnect mudfaps. A shitload of other useful doodads and of course, as mentioned above by a daylight-only wheeler, plenty of aux lighting

edit: oh yeah winch and custom winch bumper mount, dual exhaust. ALL work and mods performed by owner. Ultralight custom magnesium roof rack. Custom schedule 40 rock sliders/nerfs

This is a thread for Isuzu pics-I posted some-you threw in your opinion (that's what we do here). You telling me to piss off is laughable. I can see you now, all tough there in your underwear, eating cheetos, behind the keyboard, telling people you've never met to piss off. I blow my nose at you and fart in your general direction.:p

Edit: All ribbing aside, lots of light is useful for avoiding moose in the road at night. Have you seen any moose lately? Not to mention, we only get 3 hours of daylight in the December/January here in interior Alaska...;)

buy a star...never heard of that.. so who is bucking for early retirement that you have to pay for a star???

click on that :D

these pics are only 600x400 still small..only other choice I had was 300x200 and that was magnifying glass size. This is too hard for paying $$ to post pics

paulevans76
02-27-2006, 09:42 PM
i never had a problem posting pics w/o the star. it was a pain in the ass to upload them to a hosting site, but it was fine. I bought the star to support the board and as a 'thanks' for all the info i have gained/will gain. The admins of this site use the money to keep it running well. I doubt they are getting rich from the 20 bucks. They are getting rich from the advertising :D

anyway, I get to enter the giveaways and an avatar and all that bs, but if you don't really enjoy and use the site much, maybe a star wasn't the right choice for you yet.

Enough of this cluttering up the pics page! :flipoff2:

SPAZZ1J
02-27-2006, 10:11 PM
well for one thing when I had to pay and get the star I went to upload images and manage attachments. It would not just upload the damn pics. I had to upload the pics to Pirate on a post, submit that post, go back edit that post, click on advanced, then do some programing to link the links I uploaded to pirate on that post to show up as they should have by uploading them in the first place by paying the $20.

Far from "EASY" when suposedly it should be just point and click for $20.

Thought I had better add mine in with everyone elses... does anyone read this? :)

Its a '96 Gen II MU (Amigo for you American types :D ) with a 3.1 turbo diesel donk and MUA5 5-speed and single boring T/C. Front suspension is Hilux (Toyota Mini-Truck) rear leafs, and rear is 50mm lifted standard Isuzus sprung over an IFS Toy rear axle... 4.88 Diffs, high pinion toy in a toy axle in the front. Lots of other custom bits... work in progress... see the buildup doc for what I have done :)

Anyway, there is a link to the buildup here (http://www.4wdstuff.co.nz/mu) and the before and after pics:

Cheers dude, yeah, its a length of 50x75 (2"x3") 3mm wall (god knows... 1/8" ?) box section with some 5mm (3/16" ?) plate ends. Just notched slightly in behind to fit around the front body mounts, and the factory bumper mounts have been cut to fit the tyres during steering.

One problem with it is bump-steer... I need to fit a forward-facing pitman arm box of some type, possibly a Nissan Patrol one or a 60-series Cruiser... You guys have those scout boxes over there which seem quite popular, but I don't think we have anything like that here.

my Rhino LIned VX. Some kids ran into the side of me going 65 mph down the freeway. I decided instead of wasting the insurance check to spend on fixing the paint and dents at the body shop myself, that I would just fix the dents my self and Rhino it then use the leftover cash on the loan balance.

Much more practical use. I figure my paint would have been left behind on the trail(or on some kids car on the freeway) anyways.

my older brothers trooper:

http://paul.drac.org/jimstroop2.jpg

it's got about 3" suspension lift and 35's on 15x10's. warn hubs, centerforce clutch, rancho shocks, trashed rear center bearing of course :D and a 2.8 that needs to be swapped out.

the front grill guard I think started life as some toyota dealer option brush guard. its welded to the frame and is pretty stout (and yeah I think he decided to take the chain off :shaking: :flipoff2: ). the rear bumper began as two side rails for one of the toyota suvs lol. if you haven't guessed, he works for toyota. the skull on the hitch ball is fun for scaring soccer moms and old people. the jaw chatters up and down when you go down the road  and every once in a while one the teeth go flying off. what you can't see is the herc'ed interior. he is thinking of doing the lower half of the body and the fenders in herc too, to match the black roof.
