I got a line on some cheap 4.56's and I was just wondering if they were good gears.

Thanks

Yukon makes good stuff. I have a Yukon full spool and it was very well built.

Damn straight Genuine sucks! I got those for my frontend and a friend was giving me a hand with the regear. He tapped the pinion without a punch (dumbass) and the threads just caved like they were made of plastic or something. Upon further inspection, the ring gear actually had a few small chips in it around the edges. Not exactly my idea of quality. I got my replacement set promptly, but even still. I will chalk the pinion problem up to my idiot friend, but there is no excuse for the poor quality control on the ring gear. I now have Spicers. Anybody want to buy a brand new set of Genuine 4.10s for a D30 still in the box? :D :D :D

Buy quality the first time:flipoff2:

From what I understand, Yukon Gears are manufactured by Precision Gear for Randy's Ring & Pinion to use as a "house" brand. They are essentially Precision Gears that have the name changed for increased sales range.

I like mine, have set up a few sets actually.... Joe at Randy's explained to me that they actually were made By genuine to Randy's specs (Just sharing what i was told) and that the genuines were crap compared... Got them in my 8.8, set up some Toyota's with them, they set up nicer than the genuines that I have seen... Genuine has a good warranty, but who wants to set up gears every trail ride?

Yukon is Randy's house brand. I know that Precision has made them for Randy's, as had US Gear. They probably go out for bid every so often and buy in bulk, repackaged as Yukon. As their reputation is on the line I imagine they only go with reputable manufacturers of high quality gears.

Yukon Gears ARE the best. I like them so much that I bought in to Rand's wholesale program. I've installed about 100+ sets and have only had one come back. And that was due to the fact that the customer pulled a heavy trailer without breaking them in first. There gears are made by other companys but they seem to pick the company that make the best gear for that application. I've recieved US gears, Precision gears, and even Spicer from them. I highly recommend them.
