My wife and two boys and I went camping at Hollister Hills. My rig is still not ready.

So we took my wifes new Scout II. She, SHE replaced the master cylindar, we bled the brakes and took off with the kids.

A racoon took our dog (Scout's) food so he gt to eat hot dogs and salami all weekend.

A pig took the kids marshmallows, so we let them roast Twinkies (my 6yo's idea). They don't burn? Weird.

Amy went wheelin. She drove the shit out of it. Took a bunch of fire trails to get her started, then some mild hill climbs strewn with ruts. She did the waterfall (cement with man made rocks and stairs seperated to throw any wheelbase) hill climb a bunch of times. It was actually a really good obstical to learn on. Gas before you stall, let off the gas as you peak the obstacle, type of thing.

So she has been bit. We are going to make it rubicon ready weekend after next so we can take both Scouts for our Monday thru Friday trip in July. Standard SOA (twisted knuckles), Z-link, rock sliders, and 33 Muds. Well also be throwing her locker in the front end and welding up the rear.

She we probably end up out wheelin me. I'll get pics for sure.

Our annual Father's Day campout.

Took Michelle's 800 and she got to play. Driver's side tank only sucks 1/2 the gas out, and the passenger tank was leaking out the drain plug, but we still made a go of it. :D

Found a little mud to play in..

Yes, OS, they're blurry.. no Macro feature on the old 1MP in the shop, and the new camera doesn't get to hang out with me when I'm making a mess. :D

As it is, the old camera has zipties holding the battery door shut, since it had an unfortunate accident a month ago...

I wasn't going to post any pics of the work in progress but what the hey, I don't want you guys to think I'm slack'n off.

Decided it was time to start the boat project

Here is the first cut:
http://thisdysfunctional.org/jduarte/rocker/rckd105S.jpg

And the end result (anyone need some rust free rockers :D )
http://thisdysfunctional.org/jduarte/rocker/rckd110S.jpg

This week I have to square off the inside cuts, box the sections, then cut and fab the new rocker sections. Once I have a good fit I'll weld in the rocker, legs to frame, and begin completing the floor.

Rest of the pics are here:

Swaped out the idler gear in my Tcase(tera low 3.15) , it lost a tooth up on the Con two weeks ago. Changed the fluids, and I'm ready for the Con this coming weekend.

Joe, what are your plans for rockers?

Boat style :D. I'm hoping to pickup an additional 10" under the rockers. The new rockers will be 2"x3" 3/16 box. The cage will tie directly into the rockers, and the frame will be tied directly into the frame at three spots per side. Once the rockers are in the front clip will be pulled, new tube inners and narrowing the front down 8-10" starting at the middle of the front wheel wells. I'll also tie the front of the frame into the tube inners to help stiffen up the front end.

i picked up my 800A and started tearing it apart. all of the outer fenders arent too bad and the front inner fenders are in really nice shape- but i will need to replace both floors as well as the entire load area.

i was able to get it to run briefly by pouring some gas into the carb. the little that i heard, the 232ci "Power Thrift Six" purrs right along, and it should for only having 56,000 original miles on it!

unfortunately i am burdened with the crappy T-90 3speed, but oh well. the 44 rearend has a PowerLock in it from the factory, but i havent pulled the cover to see what gears it has.

get this- the brakes actually work! its got a decent pedal to it too, even after sitting for well over a year since the last time it was on the road, and with who knows how old of components.

the guy i bought it from said the clutch was "broken" and he didnt have time to figure out what broke on it. i crawled underneath and saw what the problem was immediately- the linkage had just slipped apart! easy fix there too.

i pulled out all of the seats and later im going to start pulling apart the PO-remedied rear and front floors.

oh yeah, the original radio works too :D all in all im happy with my $250 spent.

hey, that looks familular... started doing something like that once... good idea, didn't like the way it was turring out, so I scrapped the truck :D

rusted POS anyway, but a good truck to experiment on. Got some ideas for later.

Seen a scout done "boat" style (floors angled up).... actually thought it looked like crap angled, so I was working on FLAT floors with a lip.... will do it again as a later project, learned a couple things the first time, like positioning of the new rockers and were to cut to get it to turn out the way I wanted.

4" x 4" x .125 wall box, with 2" x 2" x .125 angle on the outer edge... and way more time than I needed to on the compound angles... :D

no, thought I did, but no. It was one of the Granite Motorsports guys (out of Oregon), looked on their web site but didn't see a good picture, or the pictures were before it was "boated"... finny part is, one of their trucks (Rick's Scout) look very simular to how I'm planning mine... eventualy.

I just remeber looking at it at Round-Up last year, and looking closely, and just not likeing the way it turned out... not that it couldn't be made to look good, just didn't like it.

I am having mine cut the same way lukes was cut (angled up). Tons of clearance under the truck. Were cutting the doors and everything so it will still look stock but a lot shorter from rocker to top of door. about 13" total being removed. Cage will be tied to the frame with the seat tied to the cage also. Cargo area is also getting replaced with steel diamond plate. All new floors from fire wall to bed end.

Of course all this will happen AFTER Roundup. Oh well, at least I'll get to show off my hood scoop.:D

Decided to finish Snoopy's dash so I could get onto the wiring...

Added the bottom and sides then installed it with a couple ratchet straps to make sure everything fit.
http://www.dandcextreme.com/upload/snoopy/6-18a.jpg

Added flanges on the side to rivit it to the cage...also threw some paint to it
http://www.dandcextreme.com/upload/snoopy/6-18b.jpg

Took some time to install it with the guages...Oh yeah!~
http://www.dandcextreme.com/upload/snoopy/6-18c.jpg

Then removed it to start the installation of the stereo speakers...I'm going to have to pick up a stereo unit for this thing...
