Erich In AZ 06-17-2003, 07:51 AM Yep, got home yesterday, checked the mail, and there were 2 notices with 3 'friendly reminders'. Any guesses what they were for? :D
My lovely neighborhood:

GonPostal 06-17-2003, 07:53 AM The only thing I could see that your HOA could possibly write you up for is not rolling up your hose
C'mon... be a good neighbor and roll it up already....
mantis 06-17-2003, 07:53 AM Is it the same one I got?
"Your grass is shaggy and unkept." :flipoff2:
Sully 06-17-2003, 07:54 AM Nope, this is AZ. They cited you for parking the 'Burban on the gravel instead of the concrete.
Roxywheels 06-17-2003, 07:54 AM  Now THATS funny! Not that you got cited, but that you are *those* neighbors! $hitty day yesterday Erich?? ;) :roxy:
boltonz 06-17-2003, 07:59 AM so, you can't have a trailer at your house???? that sucks. maybe it could be part of an "ongoing renovation project" and justify it short term:confused: did they say anything about that tube/frame thing sitting beside the mini-van?
I think that most likely, we're all "those nieghbors"! Fawk them!:flipoff2:
Erich In AZ 06-17-2003, 08:04 AM OK, this is what they cited me for:
1- Oil in the driveway (I think it's under 'That tube/frame thing' )
2- Having a trailer (I actually am using it as I dig out for our concrete)
3- Weeds by the faucet (under the scrap diamond plate and steel, I think)
:D
I can't get ovet the fact that they said nothing about the 'tube/frame thing' with axles piled on top of it, and metal stuffed under it, not to mention the rusty metal laying around!
mr4x42u 06-17-2003, 08:05 AM I would guess they wat you to get your minivan finance underway and stop putting it off,,its been a month and you'll have a payment due soon..But there upset yu have no idea where to send it...some neighbor you are..

I know I'm *those* neighbors, but luckily the people that lived here before me were too, so no one pays much attention to me cause I take better care of the place than they did. :D But if I don't mow the back yard today I may be the neighbor that gets a warning from the city :D :roxy:

You have got to be kidding me, cited for oil on driveway??? When I saw pics I thought "of course the tube thing and the scrap steel". Thats insane
Tiki is right..I think we are all "THAT neighbor" :) I was amazed I didn't get cited for my junk being on jackstand with front end apart. :)
79broncn 06-17-2003, 08:17 AM HOA's...

'Bout once a month I get a call from the city code enforcer. I am never really in violation he just calls to tell me there have been complaints.;)

boltonz 06-17-2003, 08:35 AM i'd use that as an excuse to leave the "tube/frame thing" right where it is after i degrease the driveway!!!!:D oh, just stack all the metal on it since they obviously don't mind!
Pdaddy 06-17-2003, 08:40 AM My neighbor is one of those neighbors, wholy shit dude has one of everything and they are all in his yard! I like the guy though he's a good guy and I have plenty of ugly vehicles so I cant complain!
HOA's what were you thinking when you moved there dude! :flipoff2:
SilverZuk 06-17-2003, 09:03 AM I guess you have them intimidated.
Mad neighbor: "Tell that SOB to clean that junk up"
Head of HOA: "I notified him yesterday, and I expect him to correct the problem or else".
The mad neighbor doesn't know that the head of HOA danced all around the real eye sore and told you about the weeds around the faucet.
How come you can't park your junk in the garage.
BTW my garage is too full of tools and other crap to park my junk in it. I don't have a HOA either.

you answered your own question there!
Actually, it is usually in the garage, but with all the tools in there, it's damn crowded when it is in there. I've been meaning to push it back in, I just haven't gotten around to it.

Bobzooki 06-17-2003, 09:33 AM WEEDS?
Are you fawking kidding me?
They should be impressed you got ANYTHING to grow with that Exxon Valdez Oil Slick...
Dieselmh 06-17-2003, 09:37 AM I would definately be "that neighbor" too, if I had a HOA, or if I lived in a subdivision, or if I didn't have 3 acres of woods hiding all my crap from the main road or my neighbors! :flipoff2: I say you should clean up the oil, and leave a puddle of tranny fluid just to see if they can tell the difference. "What do you mean I didn't clean up the oil? That's a whole different mess right there!" :flipoff2:
APRILRAZZ 06-17-2003, 09:42 AM We got a HOA here in Maryland that will not let you park a passenger truck in front of your own house.

I have a friend who lives in one of the Chicago suburbs. They are not even allowed to park on the street overnight. The city cops will cite you after 11:00. Even if you are from out of town, you get a ticket.

Does that fall under a general "Anti-Vegetation" Ordinance of some sort??? That looks like one ARID neighborhood!
I think you should just put a border around those weeds and call it a bush. Anything that is able to grow in that ground deserves to survive! :)

As soon as I move the buggy project back inside, that's exactly what's gonna happen. My suburban is currently leaking the following:
-Tranny fluid - Ithing the tranny/tcase nuts are loose again
- Oil - I think from the loose distributor
- Gear oil from the rear diff - I have another rear axle to put in it, but don't have the time, and don;t want to fix the leak when I'm replacing the axle
:D

I know ... since pbb doesn't allow yahoo email anymore I can't change any of the chit in my profile  whenever I hit update it won't let me since originally registered with a Yahoo acct.
Oh, and :flipoff2: :flipoff2:
MattS 06-17-2003, 09:55 AM I have in the past also. Mine looked even nicer that yours! It was on the side of the house=ticketed. So I went out and got the trailer=more junk on the side of the house BUT LEGAL! :flipoff2:
http://pirate4x4.net/mstevens/uploads/toyontrailer.jpg
Spaceman 06-17-2003, 10:11 AM I got a letter last week because the pop-up trailer was not behind the fence on the side of the house (pulled it out in front so I could clean up weeds, leaves and general crap that had piled up on the side of the house for the last few years)
The funny thing is, the way that our HOA rules are currently written, the HOA has no legal authority to implement fines, take people to court, etc. However, another private homeowner can file a civil complaint and use the Covenants as a basis. I don't think they win any money, it would just be a 'cease and desist' order telling me I couldn't park the trailer out front of the fence.
Do you really think anyone is going to bother to go that route?? (Well, except maybe for the asshole neighbors behind me. I called in their unpermitted deck/porch installation a couple of weeks ago :D )
6869704x4 06-17-2003, 10:54 AM My TOA(trailer owners assoc.) would have cited you for attempting to buy a mini-van and not having the tube frame thingy on cinder blocks.

WTF did you do that?
rockinredneck 06-17-2003, 11:34 AM HOA got on my aunt for putting up a storage shed in her back yard.
Damn that sucks. Although the complaints are... rather funny ;)

I really don't care much, but I too thought they picked funny stuff! Maybe they just haven't quite figured out what to write on the citation for the uh... thing...that kinda looks like a car, but can't be...
I can see it now, a special HOA board meeting to determine just WTF to call this 'thing' in this yard!

Wonder what they'd say about the construction materials at my house :D
Good lord...what a crock of shit. I mean its YOUR house right? I really dont see a super big problem except for the buggy maybe.
Now all i see are bushes and rocks....you happened to have a weed grow and they are on it like flies on shit. People do have other things more important than a weed.
Maybe im glad I live in the middle of no where. No one gives a flyin crap if im working on my rig all night or it just sits in the yard falling apart.

Hey Erich, did ya ever bolt that 5 gallon bucket down so you can't tip an entire T350 worth of ATF all over the garage again? :flipoff2:
