i remember reading in a post some time back about 70s ford van axles being offset. i couldnt find anything in the search. are all the axles 1/2 3/4 and 1 ton offset? im guessing that the 1/2 tons are 9 inchers but what spline count? and im sure the 3/4 and 1 tons are 30 spline d60s. any info on them would help

I got an offset dana 60 from wheelinjp. All I know about it is what was said in the linked post. Oh yah, it has 4.10s and is 8 lug full floating 30 spline.

I know that not all of them are offset. I have seen several with them centered. I don't know the year break downs or the rules to which they obeyed, but I have personally seen them both ways. They also had different amounts of offsets. Same goes for Chevy vans.

FYI - it is not uncommon to any axle to have the pinion slightly offset by 1" to 2", so don't be surprised if what some person calls "centered" it is really not *exactly* centered...
As far as what could be in the rear of a Ford van - if it is 3/4 ton it would likely be a 60, or possibly a Sterling 10.25 in more recent years (I think?)
