I have access to anything I want off a:

1992 GMC Sierra 1500 2wd with a 4.3L and a 5 speed in it.

I'd like to snag the motor, trans, wiring, computer, etc and drop it all into an old flat fender Jeep.

My questions are:

What tranny (5 speed) would this thing have come with?

What am I gonna' have to do to bolt up a T-case to this 2wd powertrain?

Are the mounting holes already there?

Are the output shafts the same?

What case would I use?

I helped a buddy drop a similar driveline into a Cherokee and it did have an NP231C which would be excellent as I'm already familiar with the NP231J from my TJ.

As far as i know, most 4.3's w/ 4wd came w/ the np231C. So I don't think it'd be a problem at all to bolt up that transfer case to the five speed
