The Dead performed on Letterman, was that Joan Osborne doing lead vocals? Any clue if she's touring or was it a special thing foir Dave?

Coolest thing is I flipped the channel on and my 13 yr old says "isn't that the Grateful Dead?" :D

Best live show I ever saw was the Dead at the Shorline. Any band that can take the Shoreline and get everybody standing and dancing is cool with me. Everybody was throwing marshmallows and spinning glow in the dark crap. It sure helped that I ate a quarter of shrooms before the show. It was all about the Space segment where they walk through the maze of instruments and tweek out on them for an hour. The Dead's recording studio is in Marin right behind my work.
