: highest/safest gears for rc D44 plug ugly 06-19-2003, 10:32 PM Are there any concerns with ring gears or pinions getting too small/weak the higher you go for the RC D44 out of a 79. I assume that this is for the front. I wouldn't have any issues with 5.13's in an RC44 front. I would still bet the axles will bust before the R&P as long as it was set right and of good quality. I have used 5.89's in a zuki with 44;s front and rear and the have been fine but that is a light weight rig no doubt. If you plan on wheeling it hard enough to break a pinion (probably won't break the ring gear), then you'll also be bustin' up the axles and u-joints just as often, if not more. plug ugly 06-21-2003, 01:44 PM warn shafts, ctms and a locker.
