: Fire Restrictions!!!
Disco 06-20-2003, 11:06 AM Now that I have your attention, no fire restrictions are in place yet but everything is drying out very quickly so PLEEAASSEEEE, be very careful with any fires you have. I would hate to see any fires caused by someone that just got lazy thinking it's safe cause no restrictions are in place. That is all.
Thank you!!!!
Lance 06-20-2003, 11:07 AM Yep. I was up there yesterday, and it's getting dry!
Roc Dog 06-20-2003, 09:33 PM I was there last weekend and things are drying out fast.
jaluhn 06-20-2003, 10:20 PM No, you've got it all wrong. Just make bigger fires to compensate for...ah....something. :flipoff2: :flipoff2:
No really, large out of conrtol fire are good. Really. (at least for those of use that make money fighting them :))
On a serious note, definetly be careful. With as dry as it is, even a tiny spark could set something off, and you could never know it. And once that grass catches, it goes hot and fast.

Glenn 06-20-2003, 10:27 PM And, leave your freakin FIREWORKS at home. The last thing we need is for some nutgobbler to set the woods on fire with a damn bottle rocket or something. By the way, it is highly ILLEGAL to set off fireworks in the forrest. That includes the Rubicon.

If you see anyone lighting off fireworks up there please take it upon yourself to mention to them how illegal it is and ask them to stop. If nothing else get a vehicle description and let someone know about it.
Dan-H 06-26-2003, 06:53 PM I thought it was illegal to even posess fireworks in Eldo NF at any time.
IIRC, they have had a standing fire order to prohibit them and it is one of those that is a misdemeanor with $ 10,000 fine and six months as the max penalty.
Even so, in Eldo County fireworks are illegal and with most of the trail in eldo...

The people camped below us at Spider set those off. I'd have to ask the others who were with us what rigs they had down below, because I had a brain fart and can't remember who was down there:confused: . Our campfire got a little big, and a little scary at one point. Those pine needles go up quick:eek:  !!
BE CAREFUL!!
