Looks awesome, if that is a Ford 205 is it flipped? I see the pto cover on the top. If it is a flipped ford did you use it instead of a Chev or dodge because of the round bolt pattern.

Yes, it's a Ford 205. Mounted inverted. No, actually I preferred the Ford because it already had the larger input and outputs for the 1410 yokes. Saved me the hassle and money of buying a chebby 205 and then turning around and buying the Ford input and outputs to convert it. It was also necessary to convert the IH t-19 using a Ford t-19 output shaft to make this swap possible. Bought the tranny and 205 from Todd Thomas in Kentucky. He had done the initial swap. I just added the 203 and second adapter in.

now that looks monsterous---

i really dig the suspension --i have yet to get to the trialready stage on my buildup and plan on running coils at least in the rear-- are those from another "common" application or are those special order coils??

and how tall is that thing--in relative lift it looks like (although all teh body is not on?) to be 18" or so between axle and frame

Slipscomb,

That is just the info I have been looking for.

I want to try swapping to the ford t-19 output shaft and use a ford 203 to make a doubler mated to either my Scout Dana 300 or a Scout Dana 20.

Do you know what year your ford t-19 your out put shaft came from? Yes I have searched.

I think one from a mid 80's ford is what I need.

the rear coils are 2" lift coils from an 80's model Bronco and the fronts are 4"ers from the same vintage. As far as lift? It's alot. Actually ended up more than I wanted but after the initial test run I may cut a few rings out of the coils to lower it down a bit.

Youre right Carey. A mid 80's Ford truck has the shaft your looking for. Mine has also been cut down to keep the length short (for a 3" adapter instead of the 8 or so that Ford used) but the splines were kept the same to accept a Ford t-case. You could actually spline it, though for any t-case you wanted.

That is the exact project I have been gathering parts for. The np203/IHC dana 300 combo. the 203/205 combo would be simpler but would combine 2-2:1 low ranges. I dont have the grand for the 3:1 gears for the 203 so I decided to make an adapter between the 203 /ihc d 300 to get 2:1 and 2.61:1 low ranges and have the 203 output shaft re-splined and threaded to accept my bull gear. I'm sure I could find one with a search...... but do you already know of a good shop to re-spline the output shafts ?

Get it man, maybe you can run a traveler tub to help push the front forward if you want the wheel wells to match.

Ummm why ??? Why would you use a $400.00, weaker, scout 300 if you are building a custom adapter? Use a jeep 300, you can pick it and a 32 spline output up for the price of the scout 300.

Thought about it but the tub wouldnt fit over the tranny bellhousing to get the fenders over the front tires. I only moved the rear back 5" but the front went out 15"

I went with the 205 for strength purposes. Kept breaking the gears and the output shaft of the 20. As far as getting shafts resplined, I recomend Wagoner Machine Shop in Haskel, Oklahoma. They spline all types of transfercases. Can reach them at (918)341-1722. Casey should be able to accomodate any request you have.

My 1980 Diesel Scout has one. :p

However I have thought of selling it to finance the doubler project.

Sell it, I had one too, but if you use it in the doubler you'll be sad when the case cracks

Me and George are doing my steering. Ordered a doubled ended cylinder w/8" of stroke out of a magazine, ran all the displacement #'s and came up with a steering valve from a former employer that will work great and steering will be 3 turns lock to lock. Getting ready to mount the ram today and hopefully the valve will be in soon. Going back to Grand on Independence day weekend so maybe we can wheel some together.

Thats where we are going to stay also. What did your wheelbase end up being? Mine is only out to 108. But that made a big difference the one trip we made so far. Catch up with ya in a couple of weeks.

Sorry guys! This is an old thread and my account with Monty Pics is outdated. I guess I need to just buy a red star. Moneys still tight after a bad car accident I was in earlier this year. I'll try to post more up to date pics as soon as I return from vacation in a few weeks.
